OUR STORY

A desire to blaze a new and better path for himself and the homebuilding industry led Don McDonald to uproot his young family from rural Manitoba and move to Calgary in 2001.

Frustrated with high-volume, low-standard homebuilding practices he’d witnessed working for others, Don wanted to do his part to stop construction horror stories; so he embraced the energy and entrepreneurial spirit of Calgary, modeled his father’s work ethic and started McDonald Luxury Homes, a company that has grown to be Calgary’s one true luxury home builder.

The company’s success is rooted not only in Don’s work ethic and smarts, but also in his ability to understand the dreams of his clients and build legacy homes.

I strongly recommend McDonald Luxury Homes for not only any new build being considered but also any quality renovation requirements. I have spent the past four decades renovating my own home. It has always been difficult to find trades that had the same high standards I require for my own projects. After purchasing a previous build of Don’s, I quickly came to appreciate the extremely high standards associated with his builds. It was at this point I hired McDonald Luxury Homes for an extensive renovation of the property. Don is the first perfectionist I have come across in the residential construction industry. Don’s standards are firmly upheld by all his staff and associated trades. The renovation was outstanding, so much so that it resulted in Don taking on a renovation at my parents home. I don’t take lightly making recommendations in the construction industry, however this is the exception.
